Dr Caren Carino's Message

Hello, I am Dr Caren Carino, Vice Dean of the dance programme at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

I am delighted that NAFA has joined Canossian School Choir, David Abelinde and Irene Jensen, Quinn’s Special Needs Centre, Sayaw Parkinson’s Disease, Ullen Sentalu Museum Indonesia, and Vanguard Healthcare on this meaningful community project, ‘A Life Well Lived’, celebrating wellness.

This occasion exemplifies the claim by Judith Lynne Hanna, “to dance is human.” I agree , dance is human thought and feeling expressed through the body.

Dance is for everyone and embraces differences and diversity. It is a celebration of our humanness and our humanity.

Let us enjoy our togetherness and hold hands albeit metaphorically dance in a proverbial circle of life because a life well lived, is worth living.
